June logistics and May Presentation and Handouts!

Hi everyone who signed up for the FIRST tractor training weekend (this one!)

As we approach the weekend, and during the weekend, you can contact Pam or me by email or text.

Pam Hess: Pam@Arcadiafood.org, 202-280-0076

Matt Mulder: Matt@Arcadiafood.org 202-365-0158

LOCATION:

We will be meeting in basement of the Woodlawn Mansion, which you can access through the south end of Woodlawn Mansion (the same entrance we use on other training weekends). See the attached aerial photos of the site. Please enter only in that end of the building. Unlike other training weekends, you can definitely keep your shoes on in the basement.

The address is:

Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey

9000 Richmond Highway

Alexandria, VA 22309

DIRECTIONS:

Written directions to Woodlawn HERE, but most gps/map apps will get you here no problem.

PARKING:

Please park in the Visitor Parking Lot and walk to the house. Let us know if you need to park closer to the building and we'll direct you to an appropriate space. Do not drive onto the circle in front of the house. We may end up meeting at the farm on Sunday morning, but we'll make that plan on Saturday.

GEAR:

We'll be in the Mansion on Saturday, and will make a decision based on weather about where we will start on Sunday. Make sure to dress for the weather. ON Sunday we'll be working on and around the tractor, so plan to wear close-toed shoes (steel toe preferred), long pants, gloves, and no baggy/loose clothes. If you have long hair, please have something to tie it up/out of the way. We'll explain the reason for all of this on Saturday.

Make sure to bring a notebook and writing implement.

Also bring:

refillable water bottle

traveling coffee cup encouraged
