Hi Everyone,
We look forward to seeing you all again this weekend. This weekend, we'll be at George Washington's Mount Vernon. This is a great location for training purposes, and you will get a really cool behind-the-scenes tour from their agriculture staff on Sunday. Below are logistics for getting to, and onto, the site; and other information about the schedule and plan for the weekend.
First, please RSVP to let us know if you'll be there this weekend. You can reply to just Matt (or cc Pam and Leah) rather than the full list.
Second, please arrive early (before 9) on both days. On Sunday, we will begin the day with a tour of Mount Vernon, and may be on buses that will depart from the conference center. If you are late, it will be difficult to meet up with us.
This weekend, we'll be meeting at the Ann Pamela Cunningham Building at Mount Vernon (see attached map). This building is behind a locked gate with a call box, so we will provide your names to the security guards in advance. That said, be prepared to say Arcadia Veteran Farmer Program at the call box in case they don't see your name.
Please keep this email and map handy for your arrival... it's easy to get lost in the Mount Vernon circle and parking lots!
LOCATION:
We will be meeting both weekend days at Mount Vernon, the home of our first president! You are in for an extraordinary weekend with backstage access to the grounds of Mount Vernon...the home of the nation's most notable veteran-turned-farmer!
We will be meeting in the Ann Pamela Cunningham building (APC) conference room.
DIRECTIONS:
Follow direction to
George Washington's Mount Vernon
3200 Mount Vernon Highway
Mount Vernon VA
(locals will know this as the south end of the George Washington Parkway)
When you arrive you will see a traffic circle in front of the entrance to Mount Vernon. Follow it around to the P1 parking lot (see the attached map). Continue through the parking lot to the Hearst Gate (G1 on the attached map). You will have to press a button and talk to security to get the gate to swing open.
Take a right and follow the parking map to P4.
PARKING:
Please park in the gravel lot to the north of the APC building. (P4 on the attached map)
Please go into the main entrance of the building. The conference room is to the left once you are in the building.
